The city of Surabaya us the capital of East Java, second biggest city in Indonesia. Considered as the economic and trading center of Eastern Indonesia, Surabaya is also known as the City of Heroes, referring to the Independence movements of Indonesia. With high rise office buildings, highways and modern shopping malls, colonial style buildings and traditional Javanese culture still hold their charm all around the city.
